Fordham rolls over winless CCSU 86-54
NEW YORK -- Mandell Thomas scored 12 points with five assists and three steals as Fordham kept Central Connecticut State winless with an 86-54 victory Saturday night.
Antwoine Anderson added another 12 points for the Rams (6-1). Ryan Rhoomes, Christian Sengfelder and Nych Smith had 10 points apiece. Fordham had 12 steals and a 35-28 rebounding edge over CCSU.
Fordham surged 22-14 to start and Thomas drained a 3-pointer as part of a 13-1 run to finish out the first half and the Rams led 47-23.
Three dunks by Rhoomes to open the second half helped the Rams to a 59-29 advantage with 15:49 to play and they cruised to the win from there, icing the victory with a 3-pointer by Smith with 25 second left.
Austin Nehls and Malik Toppin had nine points and four rebounds apiece for the Blue Devils (0-7).
