Sacramento State shoots 61 percent to beat Holy Names 96-56
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Cody Demps was 7 for 8 from the field scoring 15 points while handing out five assists to lead Sacramento to a 96-56 win over Holy Names Friday night.
Justin Strings finished with 14 points and every Hornets player entered the scoring column. Sacramento State shot 36 for 59 from the field.
Eric Stuteville had 13 points and 11 rebounds as Sacramento State (3-0) dominated the Division II Hawks on the glass 52-32. The Hawks, however, did collect 18 offensive rebounds.
Holy Names raced to a 7-0 lead before the Hornets used a 34-14 run to take control. Stuteville led the charge scoring 11 points highlighted by his back-to-back dunks following a Strings dunk.
Sacramento State continued the onslaught in the second half scoring 51 points.
Dante Robinson and Jonathan Robinson each scored 8 points to lead the Hawks who shot just 27.6 percent from the field.
