Lynn scores season-high 32 points as NJIT beats Fisher 96-70
NEWARK, N.J. -- Damon Lynn scored a season-high 32 points and Tim Coleman added 17 as NJIT cruised past NAIA Fisher College 96-70 with a big second half on Saturday.
Coleman scored a jumper and Lynn followed with a 3-pointer as NJIT (15-10) used the five-point burst to break away from stubborn Fisher midway through the first half.
The Highlanders' lead grew to 18, 53-35, when Lynn opened the second half with a quick 3-pointer and Coleman followed with a layup off a Lynn steal.
Fisher (18-7) went scoreless for more than four minutes after halftime. Chris Green led the Falcons with 18 points.
Two other Highlanders reached double-figure scoring with Rob Ukawuba hitting a career-high 18 points with nine rebounds, and Osa Izevbuwa had four 3-pointers for a career-high 14 points.
NJIT shot 50-percent (27-54) and drained 13 3-pointers. The Highlanders outrebounded Fisher 46-21. Winfield Willis added seven assists and three steals.
