Incarnate Word torches New Orleans 97-66
SAN ANTONIO -- Denzel Livingston scored 25 points to lead three players with 20-plus and Incarnate Word defeated New Orleans 97-66 on Monday.
Livingston was 9 of 11 from the floor and had six assists and three steals. Kyle Hittle scored 22 points, was 5 of 11 on 3-pointers and grabbed 11 rebounds. Jontrell Walker had 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
Incarnate Word (9-4, 1-2 Southland) jumped to a 14-6 lead four minutes in and later used an 11-0 run -- including a 3-pointer by Walker -- to make it a 20-point game. The Cardinals led 61-33 at intermission.
The lead reached 30 just over three minutes after halftime on Mitchell Badillo's 3-pointer, and while Incarnate Word cooled off a bit down the stretch, it still shot 61.4 percent, including 12 of 22 (55 percent) from beyond the arc.
Tevin Broyles led New Orleans (5-7, 1-2) with 13 points and Christavious Gill added 12.
