Incarnate Word blows past Huston-Tillotson 94-63
SAN ANTONIO -- Denzel Livingston hit 5 of 7 from beyond the arc to score 28 points and lead Incarnate Word to a 94-63 win over NAIA's Huston-Tillotson Tuesday night.
Incarnate Word (2-0) made 9 of 17 3-point attempts as Kyle Hittle was good on 3 of 4 attempts and totaled 23 points. Traylin Farris contributed 12, Mitchell Badillo added 11, with eight assists, and Jontrell Walker finished with 10.
Huston Tillotson had an early lead but that changed quickly as the Cardinals were up 24-14 midway through the first half. They stretched that to 44-30 at the break. The Rams (0-1) never got any closer as Incarnate Word made 18 of 31 field goal attempts to outscore the Rams 50-33 in the second half.
Quincy Durden and Joel Clarke had 12 points apiece and Charles Jones added 10 for Huston-Tillotson.
