Colorado State defeats Georgia State 80-70
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Stanton Kidd had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Colorado State to an 80-70 win over Georgia State on Friday night.
Daniel Bejarano also finished with 16 points and J.J. Avila had 13 plus eight assists for Colorado State. Gian Clavell added 13 points and seven rebounds and Joe De Ciman contributed 11 points for the Rams (2-0).
Ryan Harrow had 26 points and five assists and R.J Hunter had 19 points, seven rebounds and five steals for Georgia State (1-2). The Panthers had nine steals as opposed to the Rams' two.
John Gillon finished the bucket plus a foul shot early in the second quarter capping a 12-2 run to give the Rams its first second-half lead at 41-40.
Ryan Harrow converted a layup to put the Panthers up two with eight minutes remaining, but Colorado State gave the final blow via a 22-4 run, which included eight points from Avila.
