Incarnate Word defeats Princeton 79-68
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Jontrell Walker scored 21 points and Denzel Livingston added 11 with 10 rebounds as Incarnate Word closed strong to defeat Princeton 79-68 on Saturday.
Traylin Farris added 16 points, Kyle Hittle had 14 and Mitchell Badillo 12 for the Cardinals (3-0), who scored their last 16 points from the foul line. With Walker going 8 for 8, Incarnate Word made 13 of 14 free throws in the final minute.
Spencer Weisz boosted his career high for the third-straight game, leading Princeton with 22 points. Hans Brase had 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists.
Incarnate Word led 31-27 at halftime but Princeton quickly regrouped to build a five-point lead. The Cardinals used an 8-0 surge to go up 51-45 just past the midway point and protected that until the parade to the foul line began. The Cardinals finished 22 of 29 from the line.
