New Hampshire slips past Brown 68-61
DURHAM, N.H. -- Jacoby Armstrong scored 17 points and hauled in eight rebounds to help New Hampshire snap a five-game losing streak with a 68-61 win over Brown on Thursday night.
Tanner Leissner contributed 12 points and Jaleen Smith added 11 for New Hampshire (7-8), which clinched the win with a closing 9-2 run in the final 2:08. The game-winning burst included back-to-back 3-pointers from Leissner and Joe Bramanti, who finished with six points and 11 rebounds.
The Wildcats shot just 40 percent from the floor on 58 attempts but edged Brown (8-8) with a 10-2 advantage in second chance points to extend their all-time series lead over the Bears to 15-11.
Rafael Maia led Brown with 15 points, while Cedric Kuakumensah added 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Tavon Blackmon had 10 points in the loss.
