Liberty pulls away from Bluefield, 79-61
LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Peter Moller scored 22 points on 9 of 12 shooting from the field to lead Liberty to a 79-61 victory against Bluefield College on Saturday afternoon.
Andrew Smith and Theo Johnson each finished 14 points apiece for the Liberty (4-5), with Smith adding 12 rebounds. The Flames shot 49.2 percent from the field while holding Bluefield to just 34.4 percent and dominated the glass, grabbing 20 offensive rebounds in route to a 54-25 overall advantage.
Liberty opened the game on a 7-0 run, but Bluefield kept it close for much of the first half, trailing just 30-26 at halftime. But Liberty would open the second half on a 10-2 run and put together a 16-0 stretch late to put the game away.
Mike Collins led Bluefield with 17 points. Kyle Grisby added 14 points and Joseph Mcclain had 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
