Marquette shoots past Morgan State 81-53
MILWAUKEE -- Luke Fischer led six players into double figure scoring as hot-shooting Marquette cruised past Morgan State, 81-53 Sunday afternoon.
Fisher scored 15 points on 6-for-6 shooting from the field and 3 of 4 from the line, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots as the Golden Eagles raced to a 37-17 lead at halftime. Juan Anderson was 6 of 7 from the field to add 14 points and JaJuan Johnson contributed 13 points and was 6 of 8 from the field. Matt Carlino, Duane Wilson and Sandy Cohen III each added 11.
Marquette (8-4) shot 60.4 percent from the field (32 of 53) and was 8 of 18 from distance.
Marquette now is 6-0 all-time against Morgan State and 28-0 all-time against schools in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Cedric Blossom scored 21 points and was the only scorer to reach double figures for Morgan State (2-11).
