American U tops Presbyterian 63-38

RUSTON, La. -- Kevin Panzer had 16 points and six rebounds, including a pair of 3s, to lead American U to a 63-38 win over Presbyterian on Friday night.

John Schoof had 19 points, making 5 of 6 from 3-point range and Jesse Read had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles (2-1).

Jordan Downing finished with 18 points and five rebounds for the Blue Hose (1-2).

John Schoof hit two 3-pointers late in the first half, both a part of a 10-2 run by American U to close out the first half up seven (26-19). After a 3-pointer by Markus Terry brought the Blue Hose within four early in the second half, American secured the lead with a 25-7 run, in which Panzer had 11 points.

American made 11 of 21 3-pointers, shooting 52.4 percent from behind the arc.
