Oral Roberts tops Denver 60-57
TULSA, Okla. -- Obi Emegano scored 25 points and Oral Roberts topped Denver 60-57 on Saturday, clinching third place in the Summit League and staying one game ahead of IPFW, which won earlier in the day.
Denver's Brett Olson drilled a 3-pointer with 13 seconds left to draw the Pioneers to within two at 57-55. But a flurry of fouls resulted in Emegano hitting 3 of 4 free throws in the last 11 seconds to allow Oral Roberts to cling to the win.
Oral Roberts (17-13, 10-6) led by 10 early in the second half on Adrion Webber's 3-pointer. While Denver chipped away down the stretch, it never tied or took the lead.
Emegano was 8 of 14 from the floor and 9 of 12 from the line. Denell Henderson added 13 points.
Cam Griffin's 14 points paced Denver (12-17, 6-10). Marcus Byrd had 13 points and Bryant Rucker added 12.
