Oral Roberts' big 1st half edges W Illinois, 77-67
TULSA, Okla. -- Korey Billbury and Obi Emegano combined to score 39 points and Oral Roberts used a big first half to hold off Western Illinois, 77-67 on Thursday night.
Billbury scored 10 of his 20 points in the first half as the Golden Eagles took a 36-25 halftime lead. Emegano scored 10 of his 19 points in the second half to help close out the win.
Denell Henderson scored 14 points and Oral Roberts (14-11, 7-4 Summit) shot 45.9 percent from the floor (28 of 61), including 3 of 12 from beyond the arc. Oral Roberts was 18 of 29 from the free throw line.
J.C. Fuller scored 18 points to lead the Leathernecks (8-14, 3-8), with Jalen Chapman adding another 13. Western Illinois was 25 of 56 from the field (44.6 percent), 8 of 19 from beyond the arc and 9 of 13 from the free throw line.
