IPFW defeats Manchester 74-50
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Mo Evans scored 15 points, had eight assists and grabbed four rebounds to lead Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne to a 74-50 win to start off the season over Manchester on Friday night.
Steve Forbes had 12 points and five rebounds and Isaiah McCray had eight points and eight rebounds for IPFW. Forbes is the leading returning scorer for the Mastadons.
Jarod Schrock had 14 points and three rebounds, going 6 for 7 from the free-throw line and Matt Brown had 13 points, going 3 for 5 from the 3-point range for Manchester.
Manchester took a 21-20 lead early in the first half, and then IPFW went on a 17-0 run which included seven points from Forbes. Manchester did not respond with run of its own and IPFW took a 41-26 lead at halftime.
