Loyola of Chicago routs Abilene Christian 83-44
CHICAGO -- Montel James scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds in Loyola of Chicago's 83-44 rout of Abilene Christian on Wednesday night.
Devon Turk added another 13 points for the Ramblers (7-2). Earl Peterson scored 11 points off the bench and Jay Knuth had eight. The team sank 64.3 percent from the field overall, 76.9 percent from the line and 64.3 percent from beyond the arc. They also controlled the boards, outrebounding the Wildcats 42-17.
Turk drained four 3-pointers in the first period to help lift the Ramblers to a 38-29 lead at the break.
Abilene Christian sank only 4 of 29 attempts from the field in the second half, and finished with a dismal 25.5 percent shooting from the field overall.
Austin Cooke led the Wildcats (4-5) with 14 points.
