Andujar, Richards lead Manhattan past Fairfield 79-70
NEW YORK -- Emmy Andujar scored 22 points and Shane Richards had all 20 of his points in the second half and Manhattan beat Fairfield 79-70 on Sunday.
The game was tied at 33 at halftime before Richards took over. The Jaspers started the second half with an 11-2 run with Richards knocking down a 3-pointer, converting a three-point play and hitting another 3 on consecutive possessions. When he hit his fourth 3 with 8:12 remaining, Manhattan was up 66-48.
Ashton Pankey added 17 points for the Jaspers (13-12, 10-6 Metro Atlantic), who shot 58 percent in the second half, including 5 of 7 3-pointers, and made 13 of 18 free throws.
Marcus Gilbert led the Stags (6-20, 4-12) with 24 points, making 11 of 12 free throws. Fairfield shot 50 percent from the field and made 23 of 27 free throws but had 20 turnovers.
