Marist has Hart late, tops Niagara 65-61
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Khallid Hart stepped into a 3-pointer with :28 left to give Marist the lead, 61-59, and sealed the win by hitting four straight from the line as the Red Foxes held off Niagara, 65-61 on Friday night.
Niagara had the ball coming out of a time-out with :20.9 left, but turned the ball over and was forced to foul Hart. Karonn Davis hit a jumper with :03 left, but Hart added two free throws with one second left.
Chevaughn Lewis scored 22 points and Hart added 16 to lead Marist (3-18) to its second MAAC win in 11 starts.
Emile Blackman scored 18 points and led four Purple Eagles into double-figure scoring. Ramon Snowden added 14 points, Wesley Myers 12 and Dominique Reid added 11. Niagara (3-17, 2-9) shot 44.2 percent from the field (23 of 52), but struggled with 17 turnovers.
