Rider tops CCSU 69-56
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Matt Lopez had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead Rider to a 69-56 win over Central Connecticut State on Wednesday night.
Zedric Sadler had 13 points, six rebounds and three steals, including 3-of-4 shooting from 3-point range, for Rider (3-5). Lopez's 20 points came on 9-of-13 shooting and his nine boards led the Broncs to win the rebound battle 40-27.
Matt Mobley finished with 22 points, which included four 3-pointers, and Faronte Drakeford had 17 points and nine rebounds for CCSU (0-7).
Kevin Seymour hit an early 3 to put CCSU up 15-9 early as the Blue Devils wound up with a five-point halftime lead. The Broncs took the lead after a layup from Lopez in the opening minutes of the second half and Rider then carved out a 17-5 run capped by a 3-pointer from Sadler.
