Wofford tops Fairfield 54-36
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Karl Cochran had 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead Wofford to a 54-36 win over Fairfield on Friday night.
Justin Gordon finished with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting and Lee Skinner added eight points and eight rebounds for the Terriers (2-1). Wofford had 17 assists to Fairfield's three.
Marcus Gilbert had 10 points and Amadou Sidibe added six points and nine rebounds for the Stags (1-2).
Eric Garcia opened the scoring more than five minutes into the game on a 3 assisted by Lee Skinner.
Midway through the first half Tyler Nelson hit a 3-pointer to bring Fairfield within two (12-10). Wofford then responded with an 8-2 run to close out the half up by eight. Wofford further stormed ahead on a 14-1 run capped by a Karl Cochran's 3-pointer to make it 40-20.
