SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Cody Demps scored 14 of his career-high 22 in the final 7:31 to help Sacramento State take over sole possession of first place in the Big Sky Conference with a 90-77 win over Eastern Washington on Saturday night.
Demps made 6 of 10 field goals and 10 of 10 free throws.
Tyler Harvey hit a pair of free throws to cut Eastern Washington's deficit to 77-73 with 3:54 remaining, but the Eagles missed their next four field goals attempts during a 7-0 run which pushed the Sacramento State lead into double figures with 1:07 to play.
Demps and Nick Hornsby combined to make 6 of 6 free throws from there to seal it.
Sacramento State made 16 of 22 field goals, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and 14 of 16 free throws in the second half.
Harvey led Eastern Washington with 21 points. Venky Jois, the Eagles' leading rebounder (7.5) and second-leading scorer (18.0), missed the game with a sprained ankle.
