Boston University crushes Army 91-70
BOSTON -- D.J. Irving scored 20 points and Maurice Watson added 10 points with 17 assists as No. 1 seed Boston University crushed fifth-seeded Army 91-70 in the Patriot tournament semifinal Saturday.
The Terriers (24-9) advance to the Patriot League final.
Dom Morris had 16 points for the Terriers. Malik Thomas scored 15 points and John Papale added 14.
Boston University led 39-35 at the half and opened it up further in the second period with a 13-2 run to a 68-52 advantage with 7:57 left to play. Papale hit two consecutive 3-pointers in the stretch to seal the Boston win.
Army hit just 42.4 percent from the field and 21.7 percent from 3-point range. They were also plagued by 17 turnovers, 10 of which came as Boston steals.
Kyle Wilson led the Black Knights (15-16) with 22 points.
