Mercer mauls Northern Kentucky, 89-67
MACON, Ga. -- Langston Hall paced the hot-shooting Mercer with a 25-point effort as the Bears mauled Northern Kentucky, 89-67 Sunday.
Mercer (21-6, 12-2 Atlantic Sun) maintained its lock on the top spot in the conference, one game ahead of Florida-Gulf Coast.
The Bears opened the game with a 15-2 run and never looked back, taking a 52-30 lead into intermission. Mercer used a 13-0 run early in the second half to put the game away.
Anthony White Jr. and Bud Thomas added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for Mercer, which shot 58.8 percent from the field (30 of 51) and 16 of 27 from long range.
Tyler White scored 16 points off the bench to lead Northern Kentucky (8-19, 4-11), with Daniel Camps adding 14. The Norse shot 43 percent from the field (23 of 53) and were 8 of 21 from behind the arc, but were outrebounded 34-24.
