Hofstra Pride vs Belmont Bruins
Bradshaw leads Belmont to 85-75 win over Hofstra
UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Craig Bradshaw scored 24 points, shooting 4 of 8 from 3-point range, to lead Belmont 85-75 over Hofstra to win the Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament Championship Sunday night.
J.J. Mann had 22 points, Drew Windler added 12 and Belmont (6-1) shot 44.4 percent as a team from behind the 3-point arc.
Hofstra (2-4) surged ahead on a 12-2 run to start the game, and Stephen Nwaukoni's layup with 1:45 remaining in the half had the Pride up by eight. But Caleb Chowbay's 3-pointer off the bench for the Bruins and two free throws by Drew Windler cut the lead to 46-43 at the intermission.
Hofstra led 47-55 at the 16 minute mark in the second half, but a steal and layup by Mann started a 14-0 run, punctuated by back to back 3-pointers from Bradshaw and Chowbay, giving the Bruins their first lead since early in the first half.
Hofstra battled back and got to within 76-75 with 3:05 to play, but the Bruins defense kept Hofstra scoreless for the final 4:16 to help Belmont close out the game on a 9-0 run.
Zeke Upshaw led Hofstra scorers with 25 points.
