Alabama State beats Grambling State 68-51
GRAMBLING, La. -- Bobby Brown scored 18 points as Alabama State defeated Grambling State 68-51 on Saturday night.
Brandon Graham and Terrance LeFlore each added 13 points for the Hornets (7-5, 1-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) and Jamel Waters chipped in with 8 points and seven assists. Luther Page and DeMarcus Robinson led the team with eight rebounds each.
Alabama State went 25-of-61 from the field overall, sank 9-of-12 from the free throw line and 9-of-29 from 3-point range.
The Hornets led by two points, 61-43, at the break and had no trouble outlasting the Tigers in the second period.
Grambling State (1-9, 0-1) hit only 37.5 percent from the field during the contest. Antwan Scott scored a team-high 12 points and Windale Glinton added 11 points and led the Tigers with eight rebounds.
This was the fifth straight loss of the season for the Tigers.
