UNCG beats Greensboro 92-62
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Kyle Cain scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds Wednesday night and three of his teammates also scored in double figures as UNC Greensboro dominated crosstown rival Greensboro College in a 92-62 win.
Cain made 10 of 14 field goal and the Spartans (3-1) outshot the Division III Pride 58.6 percent to 28.4 percent from the field.
Jordan Potts scored 17 points, including five 3-pointers on five attempts, for UNC Greensboro, Tevon Saddler scored 15 points, and Tyrone Outlaw added 13.
The Pride led briefly and it was a 2-point game with 2:12 to play in the first period when Outlaw and Diante Baldwin each scored layups to give the Spartans a 40-32 halftime lead. Cain opened the second period with a jumper and the Spartans pulled away, outscoring Greensboro 52-30 in the period.
Jacob Thomas led Greensboro with 15 points, including five 3-pointers, and Damian Dixon scored 11 points.
