Regan leads Buffalo past Kent State 71-60
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Will Regan scored 19 of 25 points in the second half, and grabbed 10 rebounds, Saturday to lead Buffalo past Kent State 71-60.
Devareaux Manley's 3-pointer early in the second half gave Kent State (11-6, 2-2 Mid-American) a 34-29 lead before Regan scored five straight, sparking a 23-6 run by the Bulls.
K.K. Simmons made 1 of 2 free throws with 8:43 remaining to pull the Golden Flashes within nine, 43-52, but Regan responded by scoring seven straight and giving Buffalo (9-5, 3-1) its biggest lead, 59-43. Kent State never got within single digits again.
Joshua Freelove scored 14 points for the Bulls, who made 21 of 23 (91.3 percent) free throws. Javon McCrea added 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Manley paced Kent State with 17 points while Kris Brewer added 11.
Buffalo snapped a four-game losing streak against Kent State.
