Detroit beats Indiana Tech 93-50
DETROIT -- Juwan Howard Jr. scored 17 of his 22 points in the first half as Detroit snapped a three-game skid with a 93-50 victory over Indiana Tech on Monday.
Detroit (6-8) opened the game on a 12-2 run, built a 58-25 advantage by halftime and led by 44 before Indiana Tech scored the final point. By himself, Howard Jr. reached 17 points before Indiana Tech did.
Anton Wilson was 6 of 10 from 3-point range for 18 points and Patrick Onwenu had his first collegiate double-double with a career-best 17 points to go with 12 rebounds.
Detroit shot 52.4 percent from the field and held Indiana Tech to only 26.7 percent. The Titans outrebounded the Warriors 49-29.
Tanner Watkins led Indiana Tech with 15 points and Nick Lewis added 10.
Detroit won the only other meeting between the schools 93-62 on Nov. 19, 2010.
