Maine sweeps New Hampshire, 73-69; claims 7th seed
BANGOR, Maine -- Till Gloger hit a pair of free throws with seven seconds left to ice Maine's 73-69 win over New Hampshire and lock up the No. 7 seed into the America East Conference tournament.
The Black Bears (6-22) finished the regular season tied with New Hampshire, each with a 4-12 conference record. Maine claims the higher seed by sweeping the season series.
Gloger, who pulled down 14 rebounds, and Troy Reid-Knight each scored 15 points to lead Maine, with Marko Pirovic and Shaun Lawton adding 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Jordon Bronner pumped in 24 points to lead the Wildcats, drilling 5 of 8 from behind the arc. Jaleen Smith and Chris Pelcher each added 12 points and Tommy McDonnell pulled down 12 rebounds.
The Black Bears were 29 of 36 from the line; New Hampshire 16 of 29.
New Hampshire (6-23) finished the regular season on a five-game losing streak.
