TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Levi Randolph had 17 points to lead six double-figure scorers as Alabama defeated Stillman College 102-65 in the first round of the Preseason NIT Tournament.

Retin Obasohan had 15 points, Nick Jacobs 13 points, Trevor Releford and Algie Key 12 points each, and Carl Engstrom 11 points for the Crimson Tide (2-1).

Daniel Bryant led Stillman with 17 points, Stanley Magee 12 points and Justin Harris had 10 points. Douglas Anderson had nine rebounds.

Ahead 52-41 at the 19:16 mark, Alabama went on a 38-9 run that broke the game open. The Crimson Tide held a commanding 90-50 lead, its largest lead of the game, with 6:04 left. It was the first time Alabama scored at least 100 points since 2005.

The win enabled the Crimson Tide to advance to the second round of the South Regional where they will play Georgia State tomorrow night.

"I thought we did a really good job in the press and in the zone," Alabama coach Anthony Grant said. "We had a stretch there where they had nine or ten straight possessions without scoring."

Stillman, a Division II team, stayed reasonably close throughout the first half, pulling to within nine, 35-26 when Harold Ingram made a free throw with 4:17 left.

Alabama then outscored Stillman in a 17-10 run to take a 52-36 lead at intermission.

Daniel Bryant kept Stillman close in the early going, scoring eight of the Tigers' first 10 points.

"We were just outmatched tonight," said Stillman coach Michael Grant. "They were bigger, stronger and you can't give a team like this second and third shots."

The first time the two Tuscaloosa schools located about three miles from each other have met in an official regular season game. Stillman will play McNeese State, which lost 96-70 to Georgia State, in the preliminary game tomorrow night.
