Alabama A&M defeats Oakwood 70-58
NORMAL, Ala. -- Jerome Hunter scored 11 points, Brandon Ellis added 10 and Alabama A&M defeated cross-town rival Oakwood 70-58 Thursday night.
Hunter played just 15 minutes to lead twelve who scored for Alabama A&M (3-4). The Bulldogs started on a 20-5 run, led by as many as 17 points and never trailed.
Jeremy Crutcher, who scored a season-high 19 points last time out, added eight. Despite the win, the Bulldogs shot just 3 of 16 from 3-point range, 18.8 percent.
Oakwood outscored A&M 36-32 in the second half. The Ambassadors pulled within 10 points, 61-51 on Tim Wright's field goal with 3:35 remaining. Wright was a perfect 4 of 4 from the line, yet shot just 2 of 11 from the field.
Ronnie Clark scored a game-high 13 points, including three 3-pointers to lead Oakwood. Frank Hyppolite added ten points for the Ambassadors.
