Stephen F. Austin storms past McNeese State 74-54
NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Desmond Haymon scored 19 points, Nikola Gajic added 17 and Stephen F Austin rolled to its 19th-consecutive victory with a 74-54 rout of McNeese State Saturday night.
The Lumberjacks (22-2, 11-0 Southland) shot 48.1 percent from the field. Thomas Walkup scored 15 points, Jacob Parker chipped in 10 and Trey Pinkney dished out eight assists.
McNeese State (7-16, 5-6) committed 20 turnovers, leading to 28 points for SF Austin. Ledrick Eackles finished with 15 points and Kevin Hardy had 13 for the Cowboys.
SF Austin stormed out to an early 19-4 lead as Haymon and Gajic each sank a pair of 3-pointers and Walkup added a three-point play. McNeese State used a 10-0 run to pull within five, but SF Austin closed the first half with a 22-5 surge for a 41-19 halftime advantage.
The Lumberjacks coasted in the second half as McNeese State couldn't pull closer than 16.
