SAN ANTONIO -- Anthony Horton scored 21 points as Incarnate Word got past Central Arkansas 87-72 on Thursday night.
Incarnate Word (14-2, 2-1 Southland) outscored Central Arkansas 16-4 in the final 3:56, and made 7 of 8 free throws in the last 17 seconds to earn the double-digit win.
DeShone McClure's basket with 4:09 left brought Central Arkansas (4-11, 1-3) within 71-68, but the Bears made just one field goal the rest of the game as Incarnate Word pulled away. Sam Burmeister and Mitchell Badillo combined to score 11 of the final 20 points for the Cardinals.
Denzel Livingston complimented Horton's performance with 19 points. Burmeister had 12, while Justin Philippe scored 11 and Kyle Hittle contributed 10. Ian Markolf pulled down 19 rebounds, helping the Cardinals to a 49-32 rebounding advantage.
LaQuentin Miles scored 21 points to lead the Bears. McClure and Tirrell Brown each had 13 while Aubrey Ball added 12.
