MARTIN, Tenn. -- Myles Taylor scored 26 and grabbed 11 rebounds as UT Martin defeated Bethel (Tenn.) 95-82 on Wednesday night to break a four-game losing streak.
The Skyhawks took advantage of 43 free-throw attempts, making 31. The Wildcats (7-3) had three starters foul out with the other two finishing with four fouls.
Along with Taylor's first double-double of the season, Marshun Newell added 16 points, Terence Smith and Justin Childs 14 each and Mike Liabo 13 for UT Martin. The Skyhawks (2-7) shot 57.7 percent from the floor but were outrebounded 39-33.
The Wildcats, an NAIA team who played this game as an exhibition, were led by Gary Pollard's 21 points and Marcus Bowins' 18 points and 10 rebounds. Walt Andrews added 14 points and Mark Vaughn 11.
UT Martin took its biggest lead of 15 points with 8:56 left, and the Wildcats wouldn't get any closer than seven after that.
