Murray State cruises over Brescia 97-69
MURRAY, Ky. -- Jeffery Moss scored a game-high 21 points and Murray State rolled over Brescia 97-69 in its home opener on Tuesday night.
The Racers (1-1) put together a 15-5 run to break a tie early, highlighted by a dunk from Jonathan Fairell off a Brescia turnover. The Racers took a 47-31 lead to halftime and continued to cruise in the second half, leading by as many as 29. Moss scored 15 of his points in the first half.
The Racers shot 60 percent from the field and got a career-high 20 points from Dexter Fields. C.J. Ford scored 15 and Jarvis Williams posted a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Racers. Murray State held a 40-25 rebounding advantage.
Jermain Langley led the Bearcats (2-1) with 15 points and six assists. Decarlos Collier added 14 points.
Murray State won its home opener for the 24th consecutive season.
