St Peter's puts away Binghamton 70-57
JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Marvin Dominique scored a game-high 21 points to lead St Peter's to a 70-57 victory over Binghamton Tuesday night.
The Peacocks (2-3) overcame an early 5-point deficit and closed the first half on a 9-3 run sparked by two baskets from Tyler Gaskins to lead by six at the break.
Binghamton (1-5) climbed back to pull within one on two layups by Yosef Yacob with a Jordan Reed 3-pointer in between, but St Peter's responded as Vic Adams and Jamel Fields each sank a 3-pointer to increase their lead to 10 with 6:40 remaining.
Dominique was 10 of 19 from the field and tied for a team-high six rebounds. Desi Washington and Fields each had 12 points for the Peacocks.
Reed paced the Bearcats with 20 points and 10 boards. Yacob added 17 points with a trio of 3-pointers.
