South Dakota State rallies to beat UMKC 65-60
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Brayden Carlson scored 20 points Saturday night and South Dakota State rallied to beat UMKC 65-60.
UMKC (3-9) jumped to a 10-2 lead, but South Dakota State (8-7) clawed back and Carlson hit two 3-pointers to give the Jackrabbits a 28-25 lead. UMKC's Frank Williams Jr. replied with a jumper, sparking an 8-2 run and the Kangaroos led 33-30 at halftime.
Connor Devine tied it at 36 with a second-half jumper and the Jackrabbits pulled away and led 51-43 with 9 minutes to go. Trinity Hall twice pulled UMKC to within four, then scored back-to-back dunks to make it a one-point game with 15 seconds to go, but Martez Harrison drew a technical foul with 0:04 to play and free throws by Carlson and Jordan Dykstra sealed the win.
Cody Larson scored 14 points and Jordan Dykstra had 13.
Nelson Kirksey led UMKC with 16 and Hall had 15.
