Bucknell holds off Lafayette 96-86
EASTON, Pa. -- Ben Brackney scored a career-high 25 points, hitting 6 of 8 from 3-point range, to lead Bucknell to a 96-86 win over Lafayette on Wednesday night.
Bucknell (7-7, 2-1 Patriot League) broke away late in the first half with a 14-5 run sparked by back-to-back 3-pointers by Brackney and took a 44-35 advantage into the break. The Bison then opened the second half with a 14-4 run that included long-range baskets from Brackney and Cameron Ayers, then held off Lafayette in the closing minutes of the game.
Chris Hass contributed 21 points, Ayers added 18 and Dom Hoffman had 11 for Bucknell, which shot 53 percent shot from the field and was 12 of 15 from beyond the arc.
Lafayette (4-10, 0-3) tied the game three times in the first half but couldn't capture the lead.
Dan Trist led the Leopards with 21 points and Bryce Scott added 18.
