Houston Baptist beats Army in close OT 74-72
WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Tyler Russell completed a three-point play in overtime after back-and-forth lead changes on Saturday to give Houston Baptist a 74-72 victory over Army.
Kyle Wilson hit two free throws and Army took a three-point lead in overtime with 1:03 left. Cody Joyce responded with a jumper for the Huskies, and Russell scored on a three-point play with 0:02 remaining to give Houston Baptist a two-point lead. He led the Huskies (2-5) with 21 points.
Wilson made a layup for Army (1-5) with 20 seconds to play in regulation to tie the score and send the game to overtime. He finished with 21 points and hit all four of his 3-pointers.
The lead changed 15 times in the matchup and the score was tied at 13 different points. The largest lead for the Huskies was 12 in the first half, and Army led by six with 10:34 in the second.
