MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Shawn Jones scored 17 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked six shots as Middle Tennessee rolled over Tulane 71-44 Thursday night.
Kerry Hammonds II had 18 points for Middle Tennessee and Neiko Hunter 13 as the Blue Raiders extended their win streak to six games.
Middle Tennessee (18-7, 8-2 Conference USA) used an 11-0 run in the first half to open a 22-13 advantage en route to a 35-17 halftime lead. The Blue Raiders continued to roll in the second half, building the lead to as many as 31 points.
Middle Tennessee was 22 of 26 from the free-throw line, led by Jones who made 9 of 10.
Jonathan Stark was the lone Tulane scorer in double figures, leading the Green Wave (13-12, 5-5) with 15 points. Tulane shot 30 percent (15 of 50) from the field and committed 14 turnovers compared with 7 for the Blue Raiders.
