Kennesaw State beats SC Upstate 68-58
KENNESAW, Ga. -- Delbert Love had 18 points on Monday night and Kennesaw State led almost the entire game to beat South Carolina Upstate 68-58.
Kennesaw State took the lead for good just 2 minutes in and had a 41-23 halftime advantage after finishing the period with three straight 3-pointers.
Orlando Coleman had 11 points for the Owls (4-13, 1/3 Atlantic Sun Conference) to extend his streak of double-digit scoring to seven games. Bernard Morena added 13 points and Myles Hamilton had 10.
SC Upstate closed the gap to 47-41 and stayed within 54-46 on Fred Miller's 3-pointer with 2:50 left. From there, the Spartans (7-8, 0-2) tried to extend the game by fouling, but Kennesaw State made 14 of 16 free throws to secure the victory.
Miller led SC Upstate with 15 points, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. Ty Greene and Ricardo Glenn had 14 and 13 points, respectively.
