Mount St. Mary's moves past Sacred Heart 73-60
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Rashad Whack scored 16 points, while Gregory Graves and Will Miller each added 14 apiece as Mount St. Mary's moved past Sacred Heart 73-60 Thursday night.
The Mountaineers (10-12, 6-3 Northeast Conference) shot 42.6 percent from the field. Julian Norfleet finished with 11 points and Graves added seven rebounds.
Sacred Heart (4-20, 1-8) was held to 25-of-67 shooting (37.3 percent) and went just 3 of 17 from the perimeter. Louis Montes paced the Pioneers with 18 points and 10 boards, and Steve Glowiak added 13 with eight.
The Pioneers jumped out to an 8-0 lead, but Mount St. Mary's climbed back to knot the score at the break. A 3-pointer by Graves gave the Mountaineers the lead early in the second half and ignited a 17-5 run to make it 57-45 at the midway mark.
Sacred Heart couldn't pull closer than nine the rest of the way.
