Delaware rallies to beat Liberty 77-64
NEWARK, Del. -- Jarvis Threatt scored 19 points and Delaware came back from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Liberty 77-64 on Wednesday.
Kyle Anderson scored 14 points and Davon Usher and Devon Saddler 13 apiece. Saddler surpassed 1,800 points for his career.
Trailing 33-25 at the half, the Blue Hens (7-7) tied the game with a 10-2 run to open the second half. Down 42-41 with 10 minutes left in the game, Delaware went on a 20-6 run to lead 61-48 at 5:37. The scoring spurt included two 3-pointers each by Devonne Pinkard and Usher, the latter with eight points during the run. The Flames (7-7) would get no closer than 12 points after that.
Tomasz Gielo tied a season high with 16 points to lead Liberty. John Caleb Sanders added 11 points and JR Coronado 12 rebounds.
It was the first meeting between the two programs.
