Coastal Carolina rolls past Guilford 76-49
CONWAY, S.C. -- Elijah Wilson scored 16 points and Michel Enanga added 14, and each hit two 3-pointers to help Coastal Carolina put away Division-III Guilford 76-49 Monday night.
Holding a slim 12-10 lead in the first half, the Chanticleers (1-1) pulled away with a 15-2 run fueled by seven points from Wilson and coasted to a 38-22 advantage at the break.
Guilford fell behind by as many as 32 during the second half, struggling to keep pace with Coastal Carolina and shooting just 27.4 percent for the game while also missing 23 of their 31 3-point attempts.
The Chanticleers shot 38.4 percent from the field and forced the Quakers to 20 turnovers. El Hadji Ndieguene contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.
Matt McCarthy led Guilford with eight points while Jake Hopkins and Cole Greene each had seven. Zach Houston also hauled in a game-high nine boards.
