LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Jonathon Thompson scored 15 points Saturday to help lead Rider to a 61-54 victory over Charleston Southern Saturday night.
The Broncs (16-13), down 27-24 at halftime, trailed 44-39 in the second half before going on a 13-2 run to lead 52-46 with 4:45 remaining. That was the eighth and last lead change of the game.
Thompson got scoring help from Junior Fortunat, who came off the bench for 12 points and eight rebounds. He didn't miss a shot, making all five shots from the field and 2 of 2 at the foul line.
For Charleston Southern (16-10), Arlon Harper led the way with 13 points and Cedrick Bowen added 10. The Buccaneers entered the game second in the nation with an average of 9.3 treys a game, but were just 4 for 19 Saturday.
