San Francisco Dons @ Loyola Marymount Lions
San Francisco 61, Loyola Marymount 59
LOS ANGELES -- Cody Doolin's layup with 0.5 seconds left thwarted a second-half rally and gave San Francisco a 61-59 win Thursday night over Loyola Marymount.
The Dons (12-15, 5-9 West Coast) led by as many as 20 in the first half, but the Lions (8-19, 1-13) came back after halftime, taking their first lead of the game, 57-56, on Alex Osborne's layup with 2:20 to play. USF's Frank Rogers was then called for a technical foul, and Ashley Hamilton made two free throws for a three-point lead.
Loyola, though, wouldn't score again. USF's Cole Dickerson tied the game on a 3-pointer with a minute to play before Doolin's heroics sent the Lions to their 11th consecutive loss.
Dickerson scored 16 and Doolin had 13 for the Dons, who now lead 107-38 in a series that dates to 1924. Anthony Ireland led Loyola with 21 points, and Hamilton and Osborne scored 11 apiece.
