DAVIS, Calif. -- Corey Hawkins scored 21 points and Ryan Sypkens became UC Davis' career and single-season 3-point leader as the Aggies defeated Hawaii 89-65 Thursday night.
Sypkens entered the game tied for both marks and hit 5 of 7 3-pointers, finishing with 17 points for UC Davis (10-13, 6-6 Big West). The junior guard now has 88 3-pointers this season (breaking Fowzi Abdelsamad's record set during in 2004-05) and 202 for his career (a mark also held by Abdelsamad).
Paolo Mancasola and Tyler Les scored 11 points each and J.T. Adenrele had 10 for the Aggies, who were 11 for 19 on 3-point attempts and outrebounded the Warriors 38-29.
Hawaii (15-10, 9-5), which had its five-game winning streak snapped, got 17 points from Hauns Brereton, 12 from Brandon Spearman and 10 from Ozren Pavlovic.
