NEW ORLEANS -- Art Bernardi scored 23 points and Houston Baptist shot 80 percent in overtime to defeat New Orleans 75-68 Saturday and snap the Privateers' five-game home winning streak.
Rob Lewis scored 15 points off the bench, Dauson Womack 11, Marcell Smith added 10 for Houston Baptist (9-14), which had lost eight of its last nine games.
New Orleans (7-14) led by as much as 12 in the second half but missed 10 of its next 15 shots and committed eight turnovers over the final 15 minutes as Houston Baptist rallied to send the game into OT.
Teams exchanged baskets over the first 3 minutes of overtime, but New Orleans missed its final three shots as the Huskies pulled away. Houston Baptist made 4 of 5 shots in the extra frame.
Lovell Cook had 16 points for New Orleans, who made just 3 of 8 shots in overtime and committed 22 turnovers.
