SAN ANTONIO -- Sim Bhullar scored 17 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds Saturday night, leading New Mexico State to its ninth straight win, 75-62 over UTSA.
Bhullar, a 7-foot-5 freshman, was 7 of 11 from the floor and added five blocked shots for the Aggies (15-8, 9-2 Western Athletic), who also got 17 points from Bandja Sy and 12 from Renaldo Dixon.
Michael Hale III led the Roadrunners (5-16, 1-10) with 20 points, and WAC scoring leader Kannon Burrage matched his season average with 18. But Hale and Burrage combined to take 45 shots and make just 13 of them, and UTSA shot 33 percent from the floor as a team.
New Mexico State led 41-32 at halftime and by as many as 14 in the second half. UTSA pulled within 66-60 on Burrage's 3-pointer with 7:21 to play but wouldn't score again until his jumper with 1:16 left.
