BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Cameron Downing came off the bench to score a season-high 21 points, and he and Javon McCrea each made 8 of 10 shots to lead Buffalo to a 91-73 Mid-American Conference victory over Central Michigan on Wednesday night.
Auraum Nuiriankh had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulls (8-13, 3-4). He made just 2 of 10 shots, but was 12 of 12 from the free-throw line, including all 10 of his attempts in the second half. McCrea finished with 17 points.
Buffalo shot 61.5 percent (16 of 26) in the first half to take a 43-30 halftime lead against the Chippewas (9-11, 2-5), who shot 34.6 percent (9 of 26) in the opening 20 minutes.
The Bulls, who had a 39-22 advantage on the boards, never led by less than nine points in the second half.
Kyle Randall scored 23 points and Blake Hibbitts 17 to lead Central Michigan.
