BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Josip Mikulic netted 16 points and Fairfield shot nearly 60 percent from the field as the Stags stomped Marist 71-37 Thursday night in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.
Fairfield (11-10, 3-6) knocked down 59.2 percent (29 of 49) from the field and 11 of 22 from 3-point range, and snapped a five-game losing skid.
Mikulic hit 6 of 10 from the field and 4 of 7 from 3-point range, and Desmond Wade scored 13 points for Fairfield.
Derek Needham, coming off consecutive 20-plus point games, scored just eight points but tallied four assists, giving him 500 handouts in his career with the Stags.
Marist (5-15, 2-7), which had just snapped an eight-game losing streak against St. Peter's on Jan. 19, was paced by Anell Alexis' 10 points.
The Red Foxes hit 31.1 percent (14 of 45) from the field, with leading scorer Chavaughn Lewis hitting just 2 of 14.
